Richard Carl Haggar, son of Carl and Adele Haggar was born September 21, 1922 in Sioux Falls, SD. Richard grew up in Sioux Falls and received his education here. As a young man Richard worked in the family businesses before owning Rickey's Drive Inn and then the Keg Beer Lounge here in town. He loved working there and was known around the Sioux Falls area for his Quicky Chicky recipe. Richard retired from working at the Keg in 1976.

In his free time Richard loved to do many things, one of which was fishing. He could be found many afternoons on the lake or along the river with his pole in the water. He also enjoyed working outside in his garden and flying his plane, a Grumman four seater. Richard was also a very handy man who could fix most anything around the house. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He was a loving husband, a caring father and a wonderful grandfather who will be greatly missed in all of the lives he touched and always remembered for his kindness to others.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Nancie Haggar, Sioux Falls, SD; son, Richard (Deb) Haggar, Greenfield, MN; daughter, Lynette (Dan) Peterson, Phoenix, AZ; step-daughter, Jamie (Chris) Van Vliet, Carlsbad, CA; step-son, Jim Weigand, Mitchell, SD; granddaughter, Sarah Haggar, Greenfield, MN; grandson, Michael Haggar, Greenfield, MN; five step-grandchildren, Brian, Cassandra, Ben, Vicki and Ashton; four siblings, Nathan (Norma) Haggar, Sioux Falls, SD; John (Gladys) Haggar, Huron, SD, James (Virginia) Haggar, Mesa, AZ, and Ethel (Edward) Rodusky, Garden Grove, CA.
