Darlene Rose Liesinger, daughter of Alexander and Myrtle (Doese) Liesinger, was born January 22, 1935 in Sioux Falls. She grew up in the Sioux Falls area and later graduated from Brandon High School in 1953. Darlene then married Marvin Wallenstein on January 30, 1954 in Luverne, MN. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls where Darlene spent her time keeping the family home. She also worked for Fenn Brothers for 12 years and later for Fantles Department Store for 7 years before retiring in 1976. She remained in Sioux Falls until 1995 when she moved to Montrose, SD to live with her daughter, Carmen.
In her free time Darlene enjoyed doing bead work, crossword puzzles and watching the Chicago Bears play football. She was also an excellent cook and was well known for her chicken. Most of all, Darlene loved her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister, and wonderful friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
